An old favorite with exiting new routes. This year due to on-going road works on main road we have come up with new routes and a hilltop finish on the top of Blackhill for riders to brag about afterwards. Some riders will be happy to know there is no more Boyes drive at the beginning of the ride when your muscles are still cold and the dreaded Ou-Kaapse weg is out ! We hope that this makes the ride safer while still being challenging and interesting.
The first Northern suburbs event of the 2015 . This event has a number of routes to test cyclists in MTB and road disciplines. This year the venue moves to De Poort in Pine Street Paarl and a new start and finish to make the event safer.
End your January with a challenging 53 km ride crossing the Berg River near the Sterkraam Dam and visiting the top of the Matoppie, or take the easier 26 km route for a flatter ride. If you want to chill out and have a relaxed ride, enter the 7km route for children and novices. (more…)
The 5th Annual Red Hill Charity Challenge has been postponed to 31 January 2015. The Red Hill Challenge is a lap-format event, where cyclists will do as many laps as possible within 9 hours. The route starts in Simons Town and includes the tough climb up the steep side of Red Hill, returning via Smitswinkel. Funds raised will be used to support the Bicycling Empowerment Network (BEN), a Cape Town based NGO since 2002, whose mission is to use the bicycle to combat poverty, promote jobs, advocate for safe, non motorized transportation, and produce happy and healthy bodies & minds.
