ROUTE DESCRIPTION: 62km and 29km route riders can look forward to a scenic ride through the vineyards and over undulating hills in the Robertson Valley. Expect a combination of jeep and singletracks with some technical parts closer to the end. The 12km short route consists only of jeep tracks and is suitable for children and novices. DIRECTIONS TO VENUE: From Robertson, take the road to McGregor. Cross over the Breede River and take the left fork to McGregor. Continue for about 7km and then turn left on to the gravel road (Uitnood). Continue for a further 2km along the gravel road and turn left to Paru farm. NOTES: This funride forms part of the Wacky Wine Weekend Festival in Robertson, when the small town with the big heart starts to move! Expect an interesting route from course designers Chris Nixon and Hendriko Burger! Each participant older than 18 will receive a bottle of Robertson wine, while youngsters will receive Robertson grape juice. Please note that standard PPA fees do not apply for this event. Pre-Entry Fees: (PPA members) 62km – R75, 29km – R55 and 12km – R25; (Non-PPA members) 62km – R85, 29km – R65 and 12km – R35. The Western Province MTB Cross Country 2007 Final Champs will take place on the same day. |
