Become a PPA Member
Joining the Pedal Power Association is easy, with a variety of options available. Membership brings many benefits, including discounted entries to many events, a seeded funride number and timing (results) at selected events. Membership fees are due annually on 1 July, irrespective of when during the year you join the Association. The membership fees for the membership year 1 July 2011 – 30 June 2012 and various payment options, are detailed on this page. NOTE: As of January, pro rata fees are applicable. Please contact the PPA Office for more information.
ONLINE
If you have a valid credit card, the quickest and easiest way to join the PPA or renew your membership is via our secure online site. Joining online also saves our resources so that we can maximise the funding of cycling development and projects. Click here to join online now…
COME AND VISIT US
We love to meet our members, so if you are in the vicinity, do come and visit us at our offices at 9 Hill Park Lane, Mowbray. You’ll find this near the Liesbeeck Parkway/Durban Road intersection. We accept cash, credit card and cheque payments at the office.
You can also visit us at events that are on the PPA calendar, where you’ll find our Mobile Office near the event registration area, with PPA staff manning it from 1 hour before the start of the event until the start of prize giving.
PAY VIA EFT…
If you cannot join online or at an event, you can also download the PPA membership form, complete that and send it back to us together with your proof of payment. Please note, though, that this option is the most resource-intensive and at busy times it can take a few days before we get round to adding you to the database. If you therefore want to join PPA and enter an event on the same day, rather use the online option or come into the Office.
Please complete all three steps listed below if you wish to join and pay via a direct bank transfer:

2. Complete and return your form to us via email (members@pedalpower.org.za) or fax: (021) 689-8490. Please write your EFT reference number on your membership form.
3. Do an electronic bank transfer, including both your name and a contact number as reference (you won’t believe how many payments we receive with no way of identifying who made the payment!).

PAY VIA DEBIT ORDER
Payment via annual direct debit order saves us both time and money when it comes to renewing your membership on 1 July, plus you pay a discounted rate. Please download the direct debit order form and agreement, or give us a call and we’ll send the necessary paperwork to you. Please note that all debit order agreements, including alterations or cancellations, need to be in writing and needs to carry your signature. The debit order run takes place in the first week of July. If you join PPA after this date, you’ll need to pay via an alternative method for the first year, and join the debit order run in the second year.
SEND US A CHEQUE
If you cannot pay online, via EFT, at the Office or at an event, you can also send us a cheque. Please make sure the cheque is for the correct amount, and that you include your new or updated membership form, with a clear reference as to who is so kind as to be sending us money!
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
If you join the Pedal Power Association or renew your membership during the year (from October to May), you can expect to receive your seeded funride number within approximately two weeks of us receiving the information. However, if you join/renew between July and end-August, it will take a bit longer for you to receive your new seeded number, as we do our annual reseeding runs between early-August and end-September on a bi-weekly basis as opposed to on a daily basis.
