UPDATED INFO

The event:    "Week After Cycle Tour" (WACT) Ride
The date:      Sunday 19 March 2017
The venue:     Malmesbury show grounds, Voortrekker Road

Registration: From 05h30
Start time:        07h00

REGISTRATION AND LATE ENTRIES

Registration will take place on the morning of the event, where you must collect your event entry sticker.

Late entries at R250 will be also available at registration on the morning from 05h30.

  • PPA Members: Please bring along and wear your 2016-2017 PPA seeded number. If you have not already collected the number already, you can collect it at registration together with your event entry sticker. Please note that no reseedings can be done at registration, unless pre-arranged with the PPA Office during the week.

Please place your event sticker securely in the dedicated area in the bottom left-hand corner of the PPA funride number (you won’t be able to enter the start chutes without it).

  • Non-Members: Participants who are not PPA members will receive a temporary seeded number valid for the day, based on your results on the Racetec system. This can be collected at registration along with your event sticker, which must be firmly attached to the bottom left of your seeded number.

Can I ride with a friend?: Please line-up in the start chute corresponding to the prefix on your race number. If you wish to ride with a friend(s), you are welcome to do so, provided you start with the lowest-seeded rider (in other words a rider with a “F” seeding can start with a friend with a “P” seeding, but not the other way round).

Cyclists will be disqualified for starting above their seeded group. Your time will not be adjusted if you arrive late for your group’s start.

All dressed up and nowhere to go? Join us for the 'WACT' Ride!

We are so sorry that things did not work out for the 2017 Cycle Tour yesterday, but applaud the decision by the organisers to put the safety of the participants first. But should you let the fitness you’ve worked so hard to build up for the Cycle Tour, go to waste?

We have a solution for you: Join us on Sunday 19 March 2017 in Malmesbury for the 102 km  WACT Ride (Week After Cycle Tour ride ).

And even better news: If you had entered the Cycle Tour, we’ll give you a R50 discount on the WACT entry fee, in order to help you where we can.

Originally we were going to organise the ‘Cyclosportif #1’ on this date, but there was not a lot of enthusiasm prior to the Cycle Tour and the event was therefore postponed.

Since the weekend, however, the emails have not stopped coming in from riders now looking for a ride. So we’ve reapplied for event permissions and tweaked the event logistics to make the entry fee as low as possible, cutting out medals and the planned light meal, in order to bring you a fab and affordable 102 km ride! (Timing, medics, marshals, traffic officials and all the other logistics will be in place, though.)

The long-term weather forecast is for a hot day (30 degrees after lunch), but for a gentle breeze of 4 m/s from the south-southeast from 08h00-14h00 – so no Cycle Tour gale-force 🙂

Online entries will stay open until 22h00 on Thursday 16 March. Late entries (at R250) will be taken at the event, from 06h00.
