Pedal Power Association

A popular event that offers three routes/distances in Grabouw Forest. The 10 km route is aimed at beginners and youngsters (grandparents also welcome!), while experienced MTB riders can tackle the challenging 50 km endurance event. This route requires technical experience to handle the fine single track, many jeep track climbs and exhilarating descents.

Don’t feel like doing all those climbs? Then the 25 km route is just right for you! Be warned, the two longer routes both include some long, steady climbs, especially in the first half, but the stunning views make up for the sweat. The single track sections will still have you raving about them weeks later.

DIRECTIONS TO VENUE
From Cape Town, take the N2 through Somerset West and drive over Sir Lowry’s Pass.  Turn left to Grabouw at the Orchard Farm Stall. Once in the town, turn left at the Taxi Rank and follow the signs to the Country Club.

NOTES
Grabouw Forest is one of the finest places to ride your mountain bike in the Cape, and Gerhardt lays out awesome routes. If single track is your thing, be there! This area drains very quickly and the routes will be ride able even if it were to rain until shortly before the start of the event. All children u/10 must be accompanied by an adult. Easy Entry Tickets accepted.

Remember to bring and wear your PPA MTB funride number. No helmet, no ride. No transponder, no time – PPA pays for its members to be electronically timed by Racetec.
