The 45 km MTB route is a tough, solid route for fit riders, traversing 6 farms with a huge variety of terrain including single track, jeep and animal tracks, rocky sections, forest and fynbos, orchards, and takes you around magnificent dams and vineyards with around 1000m of climbing and incredible views across the valleys of the Overberg. Be alert on the fast descents. A good climb to a mountain-top airstrip rewards you with an exhilirating ‘fly’ down. The last section levels out, with a fast ride to the finish.
The 21 km route (which will be used for the MTB & Trail run) follows the first half of the 45 km route which includes all the great forest single track and ensures a great workout with enough climbing to get the heart rate up. This route ensures great scenery with interesting tracks to keep you on your toes.
The 10 km route (also will be used for the Trail Run) is suitable for all levels of cyclists and runners. The route takes you through orchards, vineyards and around the dam. Expect moderate climbs and stunning riding through the countryside. 10km MTB will not timed.
