Following the successful launch of this inaugural stage event in 2011, the 2012 Columbia Grape Escape three-day MTB stage race is set to kick off the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Lifecycle Week from 1 – 3 March 2012.
The race is held over three days and leads more proficient mountain bikers through 208km of some of the most spectacular
terrain in the Boland – including over 4 700m of climbing. Entries are limited to 750 entrants.
The stage race will follow a new route in 2012, designed by well known MTB trail enthusiast and guru, Meurant Botha. “Our aim for the
race is to create a flowing, more technical route that incorporates the best features that the diverse terrain options present and appeals to the more serious rider.” Visit the website www.grapeescape.co.za to view the route profiles.
