Peninsula
There must be few rides to beat the trip around the Cape Peninsula. We normally park in Hout Bay and get the climb over Constantia Nek out of the way, before the sun gets too hot or the traffic gets to be a problem. We often stop in Simonstown for coffee, and then take a leisurely pedal past Cape Point, Misty Cliffs and Kommetjie before a possible second stop at the Noordhoek Village. (The climb over Chapmans Peak always feels easier after a cup of coffee.) - Dave

Winelands (Paarl)
The Paarl 'around the mountain' ride is not too hilly. Park in Paarl and go out towards Wellington, turning left at the R44/R45 4-way stop. The R44 has a good yellow shoulder. We normally tuen left towards Fairview where we stop for a coffee before going back to Paarl. It's not very far - a nice ride to take beginners on. - John

Green Point to Chappies
Park around the Mouille Point lighthouse, then ride all along the sea to Camps Bay and Hout Bay. Turn at the top of Chapmans Peak and retrace your steps. We then stop for coffee at Newport or in Camps Bay. This ride is around 50km long. - Sue B.
