NEXT SEEDING RUN:
The seeding run normally takes place on the first Wednesday of the month, taking into consideration events up to and including the 3rd weekend of the previous month.
The first seeding run of the 2010 Spring season took place during the last week of July, and was then re-run to include the results of Die Burger MTB funride. Membership cards and seeded numbers are now being collated for all members who had renewed their subs by 30 July 2010, and will be in the post before the end of the week. Once we start posting the new season's numbers, your old (2009-2010) seeded number is no longer valid.
Cyclists who join/renew after 30 July, will be pulled into the next seeding run, which we envisage will take place in the week of 10 August, and then roughly every 10 days thereafter for the remainder of August and half of September.
The usual scheduled monthly seeding run and first reseeding of the Spring season, will take place as of October.
NOTE: The seeding calculations were adjusted in August 2009 and again after the 2010 Cycle Tour as follows:
* * Groups have been resized. For most cyclists, this means you would drop a group or three, while your index remains the same
* * The seeding is now much fairer to MTB / hilly road events, since a "beta factor" has been introduced
* * In general, seeding indeces for hilly/windy events are now treated more fairly than in the past, and flat easy rides more harshly than before.
In short, your index for each ride is now a better indication of your ability. |
