What is the Pro Classic Series?

·         The Pro Classic Series is established since January 2009 and is managed by Cycle Events (Cycle Lab) Western Cape.

·         The Series cater for those cyclists wanting to compete in their different CSA age categories.

·         They compete as individuals or/as well as in teams.

·          At the end of each season an individual winner and team is announced in each age category.

·         The Series runs over two seasons during the course of a year, Summer and Spring. A Season consists of 5 – 7 events which forms part of other PPA funrides and/or Pro Classic Series specific races.

 

Want to participate in the Pro Classic Series: What must you do?
                                                                                                                                                                             

Conditions for acceptance into the Pro Classic Series:
You need to be 
(a) a fully paid-up PPA member; (temporary PPA membership is available for out of town riders)
(b) be in possession of a CSA Cyclosport license; (you automatically have a CSA Cyclosport license as a  member of the PPA)                                                                                                                                                    

(c) hold the required PPA seeding (see below) and 
(d) have registered specifically to participate in the leagues series in order to participate in the Pro Classic Series.

What are the PPA seeding requirements?

Elite

Male cyclists holding a valid Elite or Junior Men 2010 Cycling SA licence.  These cyclists must have a PPA seeding of A-D. Gear Restrictions applicable to Junior Men (Born  1992– 1993).

Please note: The Elites and Junior Men will be racing together in one racing category; however Junior Men will be given separate recognition and prize money on podium places according to their specific age group at a Pro Classic event.

 

Sub-Veterans

Male cyclists holding a valid Vet 30-34 or Vet 35-39 2010 Cycling SA licence.  These cyclists must have a PPA seeding of A-G (Born 1971– 1980).

 

Veterans

Male cyclists holding a valid Vet 40-44 or Vet 45-49 2010 Cycling SA licence.  These cyclists must have a PPA seeding of A-I (Born 1961–1970).

 

Masters

Male cyclists holding a valid Vet 50+ 2010 Cycling SA licence.  These cyclists must have a PPA seeding of A-J. (Born 1960 or earlier).

 

Ladies

Female cyclists holding a valid Elite, Vet 30-34 or Vet 35-39 2010 Cycling SA licence with a PPA

seeding of A-I.

 

Senior Scholars – U/16 Boys

Male cyclists holding a valid U/16 2010 Cycling SA licence (Born 1994 – 1995).

Please note: Registration fees include all of your Pro-Classic Series race entries.  Riders only have to sign-on at each event.  No other payment is necessary. You need to enter the Pro Classic series and obtain a series category-specific race number before you can participate in a Pro Classic series event.
