Due to popular demand, PPA is organizing a second beginners’ MTB skills workshop on Saturday 7 August, presented by Sara Muhl. This workshop will be presented in the Tokai region.
While topics will include basics like how to handle obstacles (how to ride over tree roots, small step-ups and step-downs), how to handle different terrain (bit of sand, mud, rocks); and body position and technique (uphill, downhill, cornering), the main focus will be determined by what YOU want to learn and Sara will try to address your specific problem areas. To this end, the workshop will be kept small and personal with a maximum of 8 participants.
REQUIREMENTS
You should already be fairly comfortable on your bike and know roughly what correct gear selection is all about; be comfortable riding on gravel roads and have tried a bit of single track once or twice. Fitness-wise, you should be able to ride gently for about an hour to 90 minutes without needing resuscitation ;-) If you still battle to balance your bike and haven’t ridden in a few years, you have some work to do before signing up for this workshop. If you are already able to ride the whole of the ‘Fairy Garden’ trail in Tokai, you are too advanced for this workshop and we suggest you rather sign up for one of our forthcoming intermediate workshops.
