Pick n Pay Weekend Argus Rotary Knysna Cycle Tour – LISTED EVENT
Various MTB routes over beautiful farmland, fauna and flora while you are able to test your abilities to the maximum. The Road Race follows the popular westward course, a scenic and challenging route from Knysna and up the infamous Serpentine Pass(“Hoekville Hill”) to Hoekville. Kiddies events as well. (more…)
Wolseley MTB Challenge
The Kluitjieskraal MTB route, in between Worcester and Ceres, is renowned for its spectacular scenery and challenging uphills – some of which climb to 400 m above sea level, followed by rocky, technical descents on narrow jeep tracks/single-track. It takes the rider into unknown forest and mountain territory. It is a water-rich route, which passes through the MTO forestry reserve and traverses the Waterval Mountains twice. Be prepared for water crossings – you could get your feet wet! The 64 km route is challenging and includes steep climbs and sharp ascents and single-track. The 44 km is “pretty” but tough, while the 22 km is a family-friendly ride, with a steep hill at the beginning and wonderful views over the valley. The untimed 5 km is a kiddies’ fun ride, ages 4 to 8 and 9 -13 years, through the farms adjacent to the school grounds. (more…)
JAVA MTB Challenge
8km – beginner mountain biker A fun, non-technical 8km route running along the Van Loveren vineyards. Ideal for ages 7+. A must do family ride! All riders qualify for lucky-draw prizes. Only riders 6 – 10 will qualify for category prizes! First prize a brand new mountain bike!
30km – intermediate mountain biker This scenic route will cover sections of the 70 km route. It promises to be an exciting route with a substantial amount of climbing, single track and jeep track. This route will cater for the average to more seasoned mountain biker. All riders qualify for lucky draw prizes – the category winners can look forward to great prizes
70 km – seasoned mountain biker Introducing an exciting new MTB route! Riders will travel along scenic farmlands – fairly easy riding for first 10km. Single track and jeep track will lead you all the way up the mountain – joining up with sections of the 2012 ABSA Cape Epic Route. This picturesque route is an awesome experience for any mountainbiker! Undulating hills and rocky terrain along the Langeberg Mountains, makes for an exciting and exhilarating experience. Riders will be welcomed back home by the Van Loveren team. The 70km route will host an exciting 1450m climbing!
