Q: I purchased a timing chip online whilst entering for an event, where can I collect it?
A: If a timing chip is purchased online whilst entering for an event, it can be collected at any times event from Racetec, who will be available at the start line.

Q: Which events are taken into consideration for seeding?
A: 1) All PPA-sanctioned events timed by Racetec.
2) You need to have results for at least 3-4 long routes, or 5 medium routes, or 10 short routes before the seeding system will work for you.
3) All major events timed by Racetec, such as Die Burger Fietstoer, The Cape Argus Pick n Pay cycle tour, the 94.7 etc will be used unless the seeding criteria are not met. Team events such as the DC and certain MTB events are not used for seeding.
4) Events used for seeding need to meet certain criteria – read more on the seeding page.

Q: Is the timing chip included in my PPA membership fees?
A: No, the timing chip is not included and can be purchased at an additional cost of R110.

Q: I own a timing chip but am not a PPA member. Will I get a result?
A: For events where PPA pays for the timing, only PPA members get timed, as a direct benefit of membership. For events where the organiser has a big sponsor and pays for timing, all participants get a result.
